Barclays Design Floor space

Brief

A collaborative project which involed redesigning the current chill out space to be more versatile allowing the opportunity for exhibitions whilst maintaining the relaxed atmosphere and the personal feel.

This model was created collaboratively using acrylic, plywood and vinyl stickers. The vinyl stickers represent wayfinding which leads from the main doors of the design floor to the seating area, each colour taking you to a different section.

The first visible section is a tree of all the workers within the design floor and which department they work within. This would allow people to get to know each other better despite the larger workforce environment. To the right hand side allows the ability to showcase colleagues work from outside of the office.

The seating is versatile, built in blocks which can be stored under the sofa frame you can create more seating when required. There is a large wall mural which explains the design process, with integrated areas to pin work up depending on the stage of the design. Additionally there is a guerilla testing wall, to allow people to test prototypes before the release.

There are rails running from the ceiling allowing the space to be changed into an exhibition area. These can be pushed back if the space is required to be open.
